It is not in any CRAs interest to correct the problems. After all how many people reading your problem are going to go 'oh no! I'd better check mine to see if there are any problems'? Their business model is to scare people into checking their meaningless credit score. They should be banned - or at the very least properly regulated.
  • Hi RedDwarf82,
Thank you for giving such a detailed reply. I can see that the address format is changing as the information is entered and understand that this affecting the information that is being retrieved when you view your report online.
The address information that we use comes from the post office database and so should match this.
I am passing your comments to our web development team and appreciate your feedback.
In the meantime if you are still experiencing difficulty in updating your address or adding a previous address in the correct format, please call or email customer service team who will be able to manually amend the address in your CreditExpert profile for you.
    Kind regards
    Neil

Company Reps cannot use PMs here.

I've tweeted Experian to see if they can come back on this.

    NO NO NO NO!
Don't now try to hide this making it private.

Your last answer was "Thank you for giving such a detailed reply".

You have enough information. Anybody with a browser can see the problem.

You said "I am passing your comments to our web development team".

Supposedly this was already being "investigated further for me".
This has been already been raised to the web development team. So go and ask the Web Development Team what they did about it.

My residence, like the example given by RedDwarf82 above, has a flat number, building number and building name.

This leads constantly to CRAs and lenders creating "versions" of the address which are not as per Electoral Roll and Post Office database (although of course I always give them and use the right address.)

After several years I've managed to get the false "linked addresses" removed. It was gruelling, unpaid work done partly to the benefit of the CRAs - someone else corrects their data to ensure accuracy!!

The worst offender by miles was so called "Credit Expert" (a great misnomer), Experian, which I prefer to call Experiarse

Even now, every year without fail, this outfit doesn't load my address in the Electoral Roll section and I have to work to help and correct the *unts.

They always say the problem is because of the format of the address that the Council supplies (which I have checked repeatedly and is always correct), even though the other 2 CRAs have no such problem

    Just to update...

Experian once again failed to load my electoral roll info this time.
Both other CRAs had no problem in doing so

On querying, I was told by one operator that my Council has a by-election soon, and so it is not sending in any updates..... (there's no by-election here, and why should a by election in any case result in this? On the contrary, it would be more important to have the electoral roll up-to-date and accurate in the event of a by-election)

Later, an operator told me that the electoral roll info for residents in my Council area had been duplicated , and so Experian had deleted all such info and was in the process of gradually re-inputting it (A whole London borough apparently not on the electoral roll while they re-inputted data...)

Of course, all clear nonsense and only what I expect from Experiarse

I did manage to get the info uploaded quickly as I now have access to a senior staff member, but I'm keenly anticipating what ridiculous nonsense the operators will tell me next year when this happens again
