I too have been had - for over £50.00p. Similar to others, order acknowledged, monies taken, web site disappears, phones went off line etc.
Note from Companies House web site that they have had name changes in August 1999 and again in November 2005. Might I suggest that we all write to the solicitors dealing with the liquidation and register as creditors?
The email address for the solicitors is:
york@tenongroup.com
It will not cost anything to get in touch with them.0 -
Hi
Maybe a good idea if anyone who finds the solicitors dealing with the liquidation, It could be posted on here i will also do my own research & do the same
Cheers Gavin0 -
Tenon the liquidators, ask that you email them via the link on this page to help reduce the amount of spam they receive.

Having said that, it doesn't seem to make any difference.
The name change in 1999 is quite normal, an existing dead company name was purchased and changed (this is cheaper than creating a new company) and is standard practice. The name change in 2005 was from 'Online Magic Limited' to 'Magenta Solutions Limited' maybe it was to avoid confusion over what they were selling.
More interesting is the mortgage charge of 3 Aug 2007 shortly after the annual return on 1 June 2007. Judging by the number of mortgage charges it looks like the company was being kept afloat on a sea of them for the last year.

I have emailed Tenon and no response as yet. Also written recorded delivery to Tenon and Magenta's address. Will let you know if I hear anything.0

Reply from Trading Standards, not that they can do much now...
Hi,
Thank you for you enquiry regarding the above company, if you would like to supply your address information i would be happy to help you with civil advice.
I have been to the premises today and had a loook around and checked on the web and it seems the trader has stopped trading and has gone into liquidation.
You may have a chance to get some or all of your money back if you paid with a credit card.

Anyone had any further feedback on this? I notice that it is a "Voluntary Liquidation", Companies House doesn't say if it's members or creditors, but in either case, you're only supposed to be able to kick off an MVL or CVL if the directors sign up to say that there are sufficient funds to pay all the liabilities.
Pity about shopmagenta - I bought a lot of homeplug kit off them over the last five years, and never had a problem.
