Stopping the annoying pings

My PING Windows 10 laptop has pinged every time that I start playing a media file - ever since I upgraded to Win 10 - it is PING extremely annoying and I can't find a way to PING stop it.

Am I alone with this PING annoyance ?
Is there PING a way to stop it ?

    I think there's an option somewhere there.

    Perhaps your hearing aid has developed a fault. Certainly I don't get any pings at all. That said I do always choose no sounds as my sound theme shortly after getting any new windows machine.
