Word processor ipad

Mum has an iPad (iPad2, I think) and currently has no word processor on it.
I've done a quick forum search for ideas about the best app to suggest for her, but the only thread I found was 3+ years old.
She doesn't have windows or Office installed at present; I'm averse to suggesting Google docs as the broadband is not reliable (hence not working online more than she has to).
Any thoughts gratefully received.

Pages should be free for a relatively recent iPad, and if not, it's only a few quid.0

How about OfficeSuite 7?
It's free, and compatible with MS Office.0 -
Many thanks, will look at both suggestions. I'm not sure how compatible the Pages app is with the recently updated iOs; have seen some reviews to this effect, but it's worth another check.0
