how to get PDF to jpg for Expressit SE 3.1

I am getting desperate now and hoping someone can help me please.

I bought some official cd recordings of some gigs attended for a Christmas present and this included the artwork for cd labels, booklets and case inserts. Unfortunately, they are all in pdf format but the label maker I use, expressit se 3.1 won't print them.

I've tried converting them to jpg with photoshop before loading to expressit, but it still won't accept them and I'm getting an error message saying "out of memory".

I'm now stumped completely and only have a couple of hours to get this sorted as the recipient is finishing work until after Christmas now .. ! I've burnt the cd's, but would like to hand them over looking presentable with all the labels too.

I have Windows 7 with Photoshop Elements 12. (..... and a hammer on stand by if all else fails !!)

I'll be enormously grateful for any suggestions, even for alternative cd labelling software if need be please.

What size file did you save them as in Photoshop Elements, as that is probably what is causing Express It to be out of memory.

    Thanks for replies.

I had to give up the other day as a knock on the door from a welcome, tho' unexpected visitor put a quick end to my efforts. This is the first opportunity to respond to you and try again. Ne'er mind, have resorted to plan B which is to hand them over, apologise profusely & finish them off when I've sorted it.

I tried the snipping tool method Toxteth_OGrady, but I've not used it before and lets just say, I need more practice first!

I didn't think about the file size when saving them on photoshop. Will give it a go at reducing them and thanks for suggesting it Le_Kirk.

It really is very, very simple and basic to use.

The built-in Help Text more than adequately explains how to use it in a very straightforward manner. All you need to do is select a rectangular snip, crop your pdf with the cursor then save as a .jpg.

When you open the Snipping Tool just click on the blue/white question mark Help Text icon at the right hand side of the window. See below:

If they are in PDF format I would have thought they were all the correct size just to print as is.
  • Two options

1 use an online web based converter to go from PDFs to jpg

    Or

2 ditch Windows an use Linux

    Cheers fj
