    Morning all,

Thinking of you Csarina. Hope all goes well at the hospital. Let us know how you get on please.

Tru, my favourite carol. Thank you.

(((Hugs))) Nmlc. The feeling of never really being good enough goes away does it? I'm dreadful, i need constant reassurance that i am good enough.

Plucked up courage and told hubby of my new Grandchild last night. I had decided to not tell him but told him as he was going to sleep. He didnt say anything. I might have told him too late for him to remember this morning. I say my Grandchild because hubby wants nothing to do with him or Soldier. They certainly are no Grandchildren of his. Biologically, only one of my Grandboys are of his blood but he could at least pretend to care.

Off to the Carol service at the residential home where Mother is at 2. Ive asked hubby to come with me this year and last year it was very awkward between me and my brother and i know this year will be even more so. Youngest is coming too.

The home office is looking a bit like Santas sack. Cant wait to get shot of the presents. Such expense for one day a year. I'm going to have to evaluate priorities next year. This gift buying is getting well out of hand.

Weve just taken a delivery of 4 new tyres for hubbys car. "I didnt think you needed new tyres" i said to him. "I dont" he said "but i dont like the make of them. Thats his Christmas present to himself sorted then. The whole of downstairs stinks of rubber. I hope they get moved out of the house pretty soon.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

    Hello everyone,

Struggling today with painful blocked sinuses, headache and ringing ears, so don't need to be poorly this week.

Despite this am feeling festive, DOH and I had a celebratory Yule meal last night and lit loads of candles in honour of the Winter Solstice, the Yule log is now in pride of place on the fireplace, one of my favourite traditions.
Popped out to the pet supplies this morning and picked up some bread in the local shop but other than that am avoiding shops like the plague. Picking up the turkey and fresh veg etc tomorrow from the farm shop, the cake just needs icing and more mince pies to be made, the cake tin eats them apparently :rotfl:

Love and light to all, especially those folks going through particularly rough times xx

Electricians arrived just at the same time as I got back from haircut - and they've done the three jobs and gone. :j

I've now got the cotton rugs in the washing machine. I was hoping to get them out on the line but the weather is so changeable that it moves from dry, bright and windy to dreadful rain, bright and very blustery all within two minutes, and then back again.

Had to sort out my printer as it wouldn't print. After a bit of faffing around I found that the back bit wasn't in properly (the double-sided printing gubbins) so now it's sorted. Meant I missed the local PO for getting the parcel back to Amazon so I'll go up tomorrow morning.

Think I shall watch Indianna Jones this afternoon!

Sorry to hear of so many poorly people here, I'm sending you virtual healing.

Very windy and wet here but I will need to brave the weather to pick up some prescriptions for myself. The medical centre is one side of the river and the two chemists are over the bridge on the other side. River has already flooded twice this year.

    Csarina

Hope things went well at the hospital.

Surveyor has just gone after valuing the house and a big bunch of flowers has just arrived from DH's cousin and his wife which was so sweet and thoughtful of them. Still waiting to hear if offer is accepted on bungalow so a bit twitchy.

Still need some green veg so will get that while I am out later.

    Hugs to all

  • Back from the hospital, everything was ok, back in 4 months. Since I have been home I have sorted out things for our contribution to my sons funeral. GD asked me if I was supplying all the flowers, cheeky madam, after the way she has treated us the answer was a very firm NO!! My sons sisters have gone in with us. I have ordered a white cushion with blue ribbon round and his name in blue across the middle. So far he is still at the hospital, permission has not been given to remove him to the undertakers.
  • Evening all, have had a pot ductile day at work but have list my voice. Good, I hear my family mutter.

That should be productive not pot ductile.

Best wishes to all, I am too dead on feet to post properly

    :hello:Good evening everyone.

Its been a wet and windy day here. Well Christmas preparations are making headway slowly. Took DD to Ald* and Mr Ts and have bought all the Christmas food and drink, so shouldn't have to get anything else apart from some milk. I have spent a small fortune, but hope everyone likes what I got.

This afternoon I went to Chatham and collected a dress I ordered for DD and her jewellery I ordered turned up in the post.

After lots of deliberating I am changing DS's main present. We bought him a rc helicopter at the weekend, but I have decided to get a refund on it and have ordered a quadcopter instead to collect tomorrow. I now feel better about his present, as I really don't want him to be disappointed. I will just get him a few small pressies like a T-shirt or jumper and a DVD, then I will be done. I just have to wrap it all.:)

I also need to marzipan and ice the cake, and I think I may be ready for Christmas.

Hugs and prayers are sent to all who are sad, poorly and not feeling great at the moment.

Mrs LW glad you had a lovely trip and Judi congratulations on the new addition to the family.

csarina good news about your hospital appointment.

    Have a good evening everyone.

    Evening all,

well the carol service was a bit of a waste of time really. Mom was still in bed and stayed in bed. My brother was nowhere to be seen.

Found out before Christmas that my neighbour a few doors down split up with his wife last Christmas. He had been on my heart since i found out because i was concerned about him. He didnt take the break up from his first wife very well and no matter how many times i asked hubby to pop in and say hello, just to see how he was, he wouldnt go so i took the bull by the horns and went myself this evening when i hand delivered his card.

He seems well and happy enough. Glad to be shot of her to be honest and now she has gone he is able to reconnect with his family as his ex had put all sorts of obstacles in his path to keep them at arms length.

    Sleep well all,

  • Csarina, Your GD is a real cheeky little Madam! What is it with funerals? They seem to draw out the the worst in people :( ((((Hugs)))) xx

Spent four hours at the hospital and ended up having sensors and injections put into my eyeballs  I had to have so many tests and four different sorts of drops so that they could look into my eyes, plus a visual accuity test where you have to sit on a computer and press a button every time you see a light.

They are not sure if I have glaucoma, they think it might be that I have tipped discs that are casting shadows at the bottom and sides of my eyes.

They also told me I am at high risk of retinal detachment even without the diabetes, so to keep going for my retinopathy check ups every year. I have to go back to see them next year, but if I have any problems I have just got to phone the hospital and not have to go through the GP. Needless to say my eyes are a little sore tonight, but the blurring has gone thank goodness.

Watching the TV and the sky box has had a wobbly, it is saying it is updating and we can't get it back to tv mode. I will phone sky in the morning, but I won't hold my breath to them sorting it before Christmas, so it looks like we will be using the old box or freeview on the tv.

I am going to town early in the morning to pick up a prescription from the hospital for eye drops and get the cream, milk, cheese and eggs for Chrismas day. I have all the veg prepped and in the freezer, do not need anything else apart from filling the car with diesel :D

I am off to bed now sweet dreams all xx
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
