Hi,
We are getting married next July and have started looking for the honeymoon now after the venue etc is sorted!
We are looking at 10 days- 2 1/2 weeks (depending on what we do) and 2/3 of that in the maldives
Options;
1. Just maldives
2. Sri Lanka for 4 days then Maldives
3. Sri Lanks for 4 days, Then Maldives, Then Dubai for a few days
Can anyone recommend anything from experience?
Also, I am not used to searching for this sort of holiday, where is best to look?
Many thanks

Are you having your honeymoon straight after the wedding? If so then I don't think you'll have much luck with Sri Lanka (& possibly the Maldives - not sure cos I've never been). Our summer is their Monsoon season.
However if you're going Nov-March it'd be perfect. I adored Sri Lanka.
I would recommend a short tour of it, (you'll get all the beach you need in the Maldives), there is so much to see.
I went with Kuoni & found the service excellent. Also heard that the Travel Collection (part of Kuoni) is good too!
Happy holiday hunting!0 -

Hi there,
Unfortunately I dont speak from personal experience, BUT my brother got married in Sri Lanka last November - spent four days there and then went to the Maldives for just over a week. He had an amazing time and would recommend it to anyone! Also in my opinion, if you are that "close" then you may as well..... He also booked through Kuoni. The hotels over there are nothing in price and are absolutely gorgeous!
Happy planning :j:hello:My name is Steff and I am a Vegas Addict :j0 -
Hi,
In February/March we did a tour of Sri Lanka, a week in Maldives and then 3 days in Dubai, which we definitely felt was the right order. (not a honeymoon)
However, as the previous poster advised the weather in Sri Lanka and Maldives might not be that fantastic at the time of year you are looking at.
We used Trailfinders to book our holiday and they were very good and the price was reasonable for what we got.
Any further info you might want on the above, let me know.

Hi, Yeah, worked in Dubai for 3 weeks last July, Stupidly hot, spent most time in the AC office and shopping Malls.
We intend on going very soon after the wedding so will be in July so maybe we may have to re-think. The maldives is somewhere we really both want to go so could be a dissapointment.
I think I will have to look into this more re Monsoon season
Thanks for your input so far.0 -
