Delinquent accounts and defaults.

Options
Hi,

I'm trying to clean up my credit report. I have a few defaults on it which were registered in 2011. Therefore it is my understanding these will drop off in 2017 whether paid or unpaid. Firstly is that right?

Secondly I have two deliquent accounts with British Gas. For quite a lot of money £419 to be precise. These also date from 2011 however I have never paid anything towards them and I have read they will stay on my credit file!!!! They are still deliquent after 5 years nearly and have not been defaulted. I was told that these will remain on my file indefinitely until I mare full payment and close the account. Once I have closed the account it will be deleted six years after that. Is that true!!!???? Will the deliquency deleted from the last payment missed date in 2011 or if I pay tomorrow be deleted from tomorrow's date and be on there until 2022!!!!

Please help me I was going to be debt free soon and my credit rating clear in a year and a half but now I'm told it will be 2022 I'm debt free for some missed gad bills!
