I'm afraid there's no easy way to do that. It's stored as pixels rather than text, so you'd have to use an image editing program to try and remove the pixels that make up the text and print your own over the top.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

It's a bitmap (raster) graphics file like a JPG so open it in an image editing program -- a recent version of Microsoft Paint should do, but won't save PNG with transparency. Apple iphoto or GIMP should also handle PNG.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

If the background in the text area is simple, e.g. plain, it's an easy job.
If the background is a part of complex photo, I think it's a laborious job requiring some skills.0 -
Basically you can't directly edit the texts in a picture format file...you'll need to use Photoshop.0

Why necessarily Photoshop? In many cases Paint can suffice.0

Thanks ALL.
Its in Plain back ground with a telephone number. I need to just change the phone number. Cheers0 -

It depends on the scenario and the quality of results desired.
If the text had been on an image background, for example, the "Magic Wand" or similar tool in Photoshop et al would have produced better results for much less effort than manually editing with Paint. If the background image was amenable to it, it could even have been "Rubber-Stamped" to cover over the gap in the background before re-adding the text.
MS Paint is very capable and nice & quick to use for basic things, but sometimes you need the greater capabilities of Photoshop (or one of its many brethren).
I use Paint.Net (free), which is a good compromise between simplicity and capability.
Now that we know that the text is on a plain background, it's a simple matter to use MS Paint to pick up that background colour and erase the text with it. The text produced within MS Paint can be a little coarse, and I prefer the improved WordArt within MS Office (Starter) for text labels etc. (Simple cut & paste from one to the other).0 -
I would just use paint then. Copy the background (big enough selection to cover the number), paste it over the number, then insert a text box and type the new number.
Alternatively, just create a new canvas the same size, fill the background and then insert text box and type number.
edit: cross posted with Cornucopia, but it appears we have more or less the same answer anyway. Agree with them on using a more suited application for getting a better result though.0
