Think my cats got a cold

Options
Anyone have any experience of their cat having a cold? Mine keeps sneezing, there's no eye/nose discharge and she's eating fine.

  • I wasn't aware that cats can get colds. Has she had the cat flu jab?
How old is she? If she's a kitten i would take her to vets in the morning.

My cat was sneezing recently. Give it a couple of days, if it gets any worse go to vet. If kitten as above

Grandkitten (now 20 months old but still referred to that way) was really poorly a few weeks ago, started with sneezing then he went off his food and very unlike his usual self :(
DD took him to Vet and he had a high temperature too. Vet diagnosed a Respiratory Infection most likely due to FHV.
As GK had been vaccinated we thought he was protected but after discussing his history as a newborn kitten and all the related circumstances the Vet thinks he was born with FHV as his mother (not our cat) was not vaccinated and was very ill shortly after the kittens were born
We now have to be extra-vigilant about any signs of a cold and get him to the vet asap :(

I really don't see why cats cant catch a cold - but, it could be sneezing due to allergy................do you use a 'carpet freshener' or suchlike? if not then just be vigilant and if your cat goes off food or doesn't drink - then go to vets.
