Alterations company ruined my item

Unfortunately what they have done does affect where the holes are situated on the belt, perhaps I didn't explain it properly. Yes they do remain at the front of the belt, but not in a position where it is possible to actually do it up - well I couldn't anyway (perhaps someone with a size 4 or 6 waist might have been able to!). So what has been incorrectly altered is the size in relation to the buckle and where the holes are.
I was annoyed that they having paid my money for the service they didn't do what was asked - so yes perhaps I am being fussy and expecting too much! Oh well lesson learned not to use the company again.
So having more holes punched in the belt wouldn't help?Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
So effectively they cut away too much, from the buckle end, so that there are no holes where you need them to be. That is a different issue, I would have thought - how much did you ask them to shorten it by, and how much have they shortened it by?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Yes Tigsteroonie that is completely correct. I asked them to shorten by 30cm (but not from the buckle end) as the issue I had was that once the belt was done up, there was an excess of material which was still too long even when passed through the belt loop. They have shortened it by 30cm but as mentioned it was taken from the buckle end.0

I could have more holes punched...but currently due to what has been done the original belt holes are round to one side and at the back of the belt. I think it might look odd to add more but possibly an option if all else fails0
