Car damaged when parked

  • I'm sorry you've had such poor experience with insurers in the past to make you feel this way. The waiving of excess on a simple non-fault claim is standard with some companies. I can't speak for them all but having worked in car insurance for years I know that this does happen. It happened to me and from posts from others on the forum this has happened for them to.

Also, a replacement vehicle would be provided if the third party admits liability as the customer shouldn't suffer for a non-fault claim. This isn't a blanket statement that covers all insurers as I can't possibly know all companies standard procedures but I can tell you this is the standard procedure for some companies.

My loyalty is due to good claims handling and I'm lucky that my insurers are consistently the cheapest on the market for me.
