  • Lots of exciting news FD! I’m definitely going to remember about asking for vet history - I’d not thought of that before.
  • Exciting/terrifying yes! The mortgage is doable, but the thought of adding a horse to that is a bit of a concern at the moment, but something to worry about in the future. Both houses are in the country with DIY yards nearby which helps.
One house is in a tiny hamlet on a main road that's quite noisy and fast, 3 beds, lots of character, gardens front and back and a double garage.
T'other house is a new build in a very popular quiet village, 4 beds, tiny and overlooked garden and a single garage.

I hope that in reality, both will actually be fine and allow us to live the life we want, but I am very wary of getting something we can sell on again easily in the future.

    exciting stuff going on here....
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Many conversations have been had. Green light on the spreadsheet. Offer will be submitted after Christmas. Crumbs.

  • Exciting times! Which house are you going for?

Hoping to buy a horsie some time this year.
  • You've only got s few days for shopping!!;)

Went for the one on the main road. It is a nice amount of country and still very accessible to work. I'm still nervous of the main road but am getting excited about the nearby horsing.

  • A tiny garden makes a 4 bed house harder to sell. Sounds great.

Yes hope we won't find the same with a 3 bed on a main road. The 4 bed was lovely inside but every view was of more new builds and the parking was a bit daft. T'other house has space for a trailer plus sensible vehicles :)

    Just need to haggle now!

  • Have had lots more chatting about ideas for rearranging the layout for the house to move the lounge to the back away from the road and spotted a cut through to a bridle way just over the road. All in all feeling a lot better so just 3 days before we can submit our offer! Really hoping that bring chain free can have this all wrapped up quickly.

  • Fingers crossed the offer goes well!

(We live on a fast/busy main road and I only notice when giant tractors/super noisy vehicles go by.)
