Aside from the tax wrapper, what is the difference between Investment trust and S&S ISA?
I have circa £400 a month to invest.

You are asking the wrong question. It's like asking what is the difference between a Mercedes SLK and a car.
An investment trust is a type of investment that you can hold inside or outside an S&S ISA.
An S&S ISA is simply a tax wrapper within which you can hold various investments, such as an investment trust, various funds and/or shares and retail bonds.
Investing within an S&S ISA will ensure that all your gains, such as dividends and increase in value, will be tax free.0 -
If I were you I would invest in an investment trust in an ISA.

Within a S&S ISA you can hold unit trusts (aka OEICs) and company shares.
An investment trust is a company. However, rather than making stuff, it just owns shares in other companies.0
