Is beef dropping a delicacy round your way then?:D
No - but beef dripping is. ;)

That's what comes of replying when I'm on the bus home. :)
  • I ticked Turkey, Goose and Ham. We normally have turkey and a ham cooked in cola, but this year I fancied trying goose (just a small bit) but OH came home with a whole one and wrestled to get it into the freezer, so I'll cook it Christmas Eve, when I do my ham and get all the meat off so it's not taking up so much room in the fridge.

Will be served with - roast potatoes, maple glazed parsnips, carrots, sprouts, braised red cabbage, 2 types of stuffing, bacon roll ups, sausage meat balls, bread sauce, cranberry sauce and gravy.
    Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
    And now the final frame
    Love is a losing game
  • I choose turkey and ham. all of my family member love them very much

Normally we have Turkey - I have a friend who riases a small number of free range, slow reared turkeys for friends and family so ours is nt bland or tasteless. However, as there will only be 3 of us on Christmas Day this year we are having beef instead. Off to pick it up from the farm this evening :)

We don't celebrate christmas, we used to volunteer at a local community centre and provide and an xmas dinner and entertainment for the lone elderly.

There wasn't anything established when we moved here, so we started a group and we now average 15 volunteers on xmas eve and xmas day. This years menu is prawn cocktail to start, Capon and Pork for the main with pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, brussels, roast carrots, roast parsnips and stuffing. Pudding is a choice of trifle or xmas pud. Last year we collected 46 people from their homes and delivered 32 dinners to those who are housbound, we always arrange for these to have an hours company during lunch by making everything in advance so we only have three people at the community centre and everyone else doing dinner delivery and company.

On xmas eve we have a cold buffet and watch a few xmas classics, everyone gets a small gift as well so they have something to open xmas morning.
