Good locations in Derbyshire?

What about Nottinghamshire?
Ravenshead, or Eastwood, only a 15 minute drive away.0 -
With a journey to South Normanton every day you can get a lot for your money in the areas surrounding Alfreton. There are good and bad parts of every town. There are some nice places in South Normanton itself. Many people, esp FTB are leaving Belper and moving to Alfreton as it is cheaper.
Belper is a lovely town with lots going on and plenty of amenities inc regular buses and a train. Access to the A38 is easy, as is the A6.
Denby, Somercotes, Ripley, West Hallam, Belper, Heanor, Alfreton, Chesterfield, Wingerworth, Clay Cross and Selston are all within good reachable distance of South Normanton. Each of these areas will have nicer and not so nice parts so check them out for yourselves and see what you think. Personally i wouldnt recommend you commute in from Derby as the A38 between A6 and Markeaton Island is monstrous at the best of times and will add a lot of time to your day unless you work nights.
As someone else mentioned, parts of Nottinghamshire are also nice, and can be good value. Hucknall shouldnt be too far a drive and is currently expanding massively with lots of new homes due to be built over the next few years.
I live and work in Derbyshire so if you want any info more specific to an area please PM me xx£2 Savers Club #156!
Looking for holiday ideas for 2016. Currently, Isle of Skye in March, Riga in May, Crete in June and Lake District in October. August cruise cancelled, but Baby due September 2016! :j0 -
