Hotpoint tumble dryer rights.

I am very confused...
I have had calls from Hotpoint, first saying my tumble dryer was going to be replaced with a new one,then to say they were out of stock and I'd be contacted when one was available , then another call to say they are still trying to locate one or would I prefer a repair .... I said I'd prefer a new one as mine was only 8 months old anyway,
Now they are saying I have to have a repair as they are now discontinued,even though I can find similar ones online that is available to buy now. It's the colour that is the problem, I have black and they only have grey.
They said if I want a collect and refund I have to supply them with proof of purchase and other details even though they have all that already and THEY contacted me....
They are being very blank about it all and will only give me a basic phone number as theirs is only outbound calls so I can't call them back at all...
All I want is a new black tumble dryer!!!!!
Please.....what should I do?

    You ask what you should do.

    As they can't supply a new black one, it seems you have two choices:

    1) accept a repair, or

    2) if you would prefer a refund, then supply your proof of purchase and 'other details' again.
