Help please,I inadvertenly gave the impression that I did not want to protect my no claims when I took out my policy 3 months ago,in 15 years I have never claimed against my car insurance,untill the 21st July when my car was wrighten off due to flood damage,and so effectively has my no claims bonus,I am 67, how difficult wiil it be to get sensible car insurance again.

The norm with a claim you make will step down two years. You don't lose it all.
I'd have a quick check of your policy booklet though to set your mind at rest.
If you are a direct line customer or affiliated company the max they go to is 5 years so your 15 doesn't matter.
You would be stepped down to 3 years NCD.
Other companies may register your bonus all the way to 10 years.
You schedule of insurance will probably say your current NCD entitlement.

Might be worth you having a really good read of your policy just to check how much of your no claims you might loose. Not necessarily all of it. Or better still give your insurance company a ring.0
