:eek:Good point Trev! -- We are aware of the risk, hence small, one level, detached, 330metres above sea level; & some miles inland to avoid the concrete & golf mentality!;)..... but even so..............it will fall down.
I read somewhere that there were two previous big quakes & all exactly 255 yrs apart !! -- It will/would be the only time this charming banana republic has been on time for anything except EU handout collections:D

Thxs Ed Inv. back on topic at last (no thxs to me). One of us has pensions, the other not.
I'm still looking at other Euro countries for a better return than the dismal ones here.

Shares?! -- Looking five/ten years on this time, will anything be safe? .... or put it another way, if I leave it all to one man/team who will be wise (&fast) enough to be ahead of the game?

I agree missile, but the savings rates in Portugal at least are a joke, hence staying in UK savings for the moment.

You need to look harder. Most of my cash is in £ but I got over 5% on savings I held in Spain last year. Not great, but a reasonable return.
