Question re car insurance

I never take auto renewal on my car insurance, this week i have purchased myself a new car using my existing car as part exchange.
i still have 2 months left on my existing insurance @ £17 pm to cancel my policy i will have to pay the 2 mths plus a £45 cancellation fee, to add/change car i will have to pay an additional £30 fee.
So i am thinking i will just run the existing policy and pay the final 2 mths and take out a brand new policy for my new car, will i be doing anything wrong here? if someone were to buy my old car from the dealer would the new owner still be able to insure it?

Several issues, your new car/policy will have zero no claims. How much will that cost you?
Your current no claims is tied to the old policy.
There is a risk that someone could claim from your old inurance for a car that you no longer own. Small risk but its happened and you will have fallen foul of your insurance terms by not informing them of the change of vehicle and the fact you no longer own the vehicle.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
