Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is in the right forum so have posted in Phones & TV Forum as well.
We have recently bought a new Smart TV and last night, whilst watching something on the Sky Planner, the TV suddenly changed to the Youtube channel and started playing a children's cartoon. I realised that it was the same one that my autistic daughter was watching on her ipad in her bedroom (just next door to the lounge). The only way I could get Youtube off of the TV was to turn it off and turn it back on again.
Today, exactly the same thing happened with my elder daughter's TV, it suddenly switched to Youtube to what my younger daughter was watching in another room.
I've only briefly googled this but all I have read points to this facility having to be set up?? My youngest daughter definitely hasn't done this and nor has anyone else. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and what I have to do to stop it?
TIA :-)

It sounds as though the iPad is finding the smart tv via the wifi and is set to play on external source. Check the settings on the iPad by simply selecting a clip and playing it. You want set the iPad to default it to play using the internal app.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I think a setting on your TV has been altered , I have a win 10 setup , and can right click on a vid file and "cast to" , as well as myy media player , my TV shows up , and will start playing if I select that , however in the TV settings is a tab to click or de select , think its marked a DNLA or similar , disabling this or similar might solve your problemSave a Rachael

I have just checked the ipad and the clips play on it fine. However, there is a little "wifi/box" icon in the top right corner and when you touch it, both my TV model and my elder daughter's TV model are showing. It then turned my TV onto the Youtube clip that I played. How did both TVs even get on there? I can't see any options for not playing via an external source?

see above post and look at your settings on the TV, the ipad/phone or android or even a computer will play to any other device that is connected to your network , so therefore you must disable the TV that is accepting an incoming signalSave a Rachael

Thanks. Sorry to sound dim but my elder daughter has had her smart TV for a year and this has only just started happening. My younger daughter has 2 ipad minis (she's autistic and doesn't understand that one has to charge whilst she is using the other). This is only happening with 1 of the ipads but we are all connected to the same wifi?0
