    I really do understand your point but if I didn't sign up to PMI I wouldn't go private precisely because it's too expensive. So it's expensive peace of mind vs guaranteed NHS, which has been rubbish in my recent experience.

    I was suggesting you get some quotes - it may work out cheaper than £50 p/m for whatever cover you think is suitable. You may decide that you only want to cover PH when the NHS wait would be long or that you don't require out patient cover.
