BUMP! Fallen off the DFW wagon...

oh blinkin' 'eck!!!!!

Had a STUPID weekend.. very busy and expensive.
I managed not to spend too much, but i FORGOT about payments going out Friday / Monday.

so, now I have 3.85 and half a loaf of bread at home to last me until Friday morning!

I'm dead angry with myself for forgetting my Direct Debits... not like me at all...

Tonight my OH and I are going to see my folks and they are doing us a dinner so no spend there.

Tomorrow OH is taking me out for a special dinner, so again, no spend.

Thursday.. ekk! hmm, I hope I can get something cheap!

as far as breakfast and lunch is concerned, that should be fine (sarnies and cereal).

SO angry with myself!!!

okay, rant over!!!
:D

hahaha! no! I used everything I could last night for pasta.
We have one of those stupid fridges that only has a freezer compartment the size of a mouse's pocket, so nothing in there either!
If I can keep the 3.85, then I can get a good feed...

I smoke, so I guess I'm not going to be able to this week huh? maybe I'll just quit altogether. I did join the stop smoking thread, for about 1/2 day.
    RUBBISH!

    :)
  • I know the feeling. I went abit mad on the homebase sale at the weekend. We have just bought our 1st house and even though I got a complete hardwood patio set reduced from £120 to £35 its the most I've spent on myself in one go since my LBM. Made good use of it over the weekend but feel alittle silly now. Had a bbq too, but that was out of the food account so I'm not worrying to much about that one! Had to get some bits and bobs for the house i.e. mop and bucket and some shelving. Its scary how it all starts to add up.

I am proud of myself for none of it going on the c/card.
    Starting debt @ LBM: £8436.51 (8/5/7)
    Barclaycard: £5804.52 (May 07) - 6.9% LOB Now: £5315.25
    Egg: £1640.99 (May 07) - 1.9% May 08 - Now: £1242.69
    [strike]Barclays O/D: £991dr (May 07) - 16.9% - Now: £0.00[/strike]
    Debt August 07 £6557.94

    Oh honey!

At least it wasnt too bad! We all slip up from time to time (me especially:o )

Thankfully pay day is nearly here and at least you are now back on wagon! None of us are serving jail time, yet often I think we do feel bad for having a little treat. We have done nothing wrong expect being useless with managing our money and as such, you shouldnt feel guilty if you have a little spurlge every now and then, it isnt like you are hurting anyone!

You should get a separate account with a nice cash back deal then your dds are safe!

I learnt that one a very hard way!

Glad its only a little pickle still ;)

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again... :)

I have a suggestion which works well for me.

I've created a spreadsheet which lists all my DDs and Standing Orders and the dates they go out. I also have a space on the spreadsheet for a tick. Every month on payday I print out a copy of this and blu-tack it to the bathroom wall. When a DD/SO goes out, I tick it off the list. This way, I'm always aware that DDs are about to go out.

Hope this helps - it sure does for me!

(PS: More than happy to swap debts if you're interested :D )

hahaha! thanks so much! that's a grand idea!
I know my debt isn't huge, and to be honest, I could probably remove the cash I owe my folks from the total as it's only 25.00 per week and there's no rush to pay them back at all.

My only real debts are Credit Card (600.00) and old interest free overdraft on my old account (150.00), so only 750.00.

Hmm.. I go on Holiday in a few weeks time, but I wonder how soon I can get rid of Credit Card and overdraft (750.00) ?

I'll do a new spreadsheet and post back in a bit...
  • If you live anywhere near junction 28 of the M25 I have loads of tomatos and Cucumbers and runner beans coming out of my ears from my mum, nan and neighbour I could give some to you ................. salad anyone ?!?!?!

Sorry just trying to lighten the load - but seriously from next year we are going to 'grow our own' ................... hhmmmm then we'llhave even more tomato's/cucumbers and runner beans - although that said I could just eat runner beans and gravy on their own ..... and I'm not pregnant ..... I don't think so ............. ;-)))
