Replacing electric storage heaters and looking for advice
I'm currently looking at replacing two old electric storage heaters in my flat with more modern models.
I'd like storage heaters than can also be used on peak during the day without having been charged overnight. This would be useful as I often work away from home and would prefer not to have to choose between heating an empty flat or putting up with a cold flat when I return. I've been looking at the Dimplex Duoheat models but I'm unclear on whether these fit the bill, can anyone confirm that these will do what I want?
I'd welcome any suggestions for alternatives to Duoheat or electric storage heaters in general if you think there is a better option. My flat doesn't have a gas supply.
Thanks in advance!

You'd be better with a heater that allows time control of the daytime heat output, to warm the flat before you get home.
I don't know if Dimplex Quantum allow that, but I'm failry sure Duoheat don't.
You could look at fan assisted storage heaters; the output fan can be time-controlled by a normal central heating programmer.

Duo's fit the bill perfectly. essentially they have an an additional 13a forward facing element which is radiative. On a personal level I would not have a fan heater if you paid for it.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
