123 account without a job?

. I was introducing the idea to a young person that meritorious principles can be equally fulfilling in life to those of simple personal gain, and could add the dual purpose opportunity to the DDs.
As I said before, you could have just said that donations can be made by DD and left it at that. I shall leave it at that.0 -
Hilarous. So you weren't just assuming they have too much money for their age, you are now also assuming they need a certain type of education.Evolution, not revolution0

That depends on whether you need to fill in a form to withdraw from your ISA (see T&Cs for the account). If they are instant online access then you can probably transfer internally from Santander, and by faster payment from NatWest.
They are both easy access isa's so from this i imagine that i can simply transfer all monies out of both accounts and close them.
thank you for your reply

My son was accepted for an online upgrade from Flexaccount to Flexdirect immediately - so not being employed wasn`t an obstacle and he has now moved his ISA savings over to an account paying 5% hopefully for 1 year. He has had the Flexaccount for over a year - that may have helped.0

I hate Santander. So it turned out I couldn't switch account, but could apply for one. I apparently entered details which didn't match my current bank with them in my 123 application, so rather than asking for ID verification and asking if it was a mistake, they sent a change of details letter. I can't fill out the letter because it would be half complete, I can only fill in "current details" and not "new details". I'm going to try go in branch and just sort everything out.
They said they'll pause my application until they receive the change of details letter. If I go in branch will they be able to cancel that application there and then and start me a new one there? If not, I'll have to wait for the application to expire, which will be a huge pain if anything like the TSB switch I did last year (they claimed they'd processed the switch, which was a lie, as a month later I got a letter saying the application had expired).
I'm going to live outside of the UK with my fianc! next year, so was just hoping to switch beforr the start of 2016, and hav a half decent interest rate until I leave in summer/autumn. I hate banks, they always mess me around.:mad:0 -
I receive over £500 a month as gifts from my dad and fiance, usually £600-900, although I spend 70%+ of it, so I don't "net" £500 a monthI could set up 2 DD's in the first week,
(If anyone can tell me how to get a DD set up to come from Club Lloyds no later than Thursday 31.12.15, please, please, please post it here or PM me!)0 -

I applied online and received an email within 24 hours saying,
"Thanks for applying to transfer your account to a 1|2|3 Current Account.
Unfortunately, your existing account isn’t eligible for a transfer to the 1|2|3 Current Account."
I'm confused as to why, as I could set up 2 DD's in the first week, and have put £500+ in for over 2 years, which would continue. I'd fulfil all the requirements, so I'm stumped as to why I'm not eligible. Should I go see them at my local branch, will they have a different opinion in person than online, why?
If Santander are saying your current account is not eligible to be transferred to 123 account, is there anything stopping you from just applying for a 123 account without actually transferring your other account? (Santander T&C's might not allow you to have two accounts though)
If Santander won't allow that, another admittedly fiddly option is to transfer the account to another bank and then a few months later make another attempt to open a 123 account.0
