Apparently, the nanny filter objects to the OED short word for Asinus, a subgenus of Equus that includes the donkey and other asses:

Can someone with an bit of common sense sort this out please?

Presumably MET parking will have had to correct the error of putting "0" instead of "o" when they made their enquiry to the DVLA for keeper details.

A very good point, and one which I would think would score heavily against then in a Court of Law.

I think that the OP can safely ignore these goons.

  • I emailed the manager, and copied in the ceo at the council, chief exec in charge of sports etc and my local mp.

    Got this reply today:
    Dear Lauren

    Thank you for your email.

I am sorry to hear about your recent parking charge.

I have passed this onto my Operations Manager who will look into this for you this week.

I will aim to have a response to you before Christmas

    Many thanks

    Kind Regards

    We'll see!!
  • They've cancelled it. Complaining can work! Is there a complaints thread, should I post my letter in or anything?

I CCed my mp and council ceo but the person they seemed to care about was the council chief exec for community and sports etc as she's the only one they copied in.

    Thanks for all the advice!

Good work , common sense prevails and MET's inability not to greedily try and grab £30 will hopefully cost them far more come contract renewal time . Those contracting with leeches unfortunately don't spend enough time with them at the bottom of the pond .

  • Hi
I have received a parking fine from this 'Met parking services'.
After paying by phone and giving my number plate, their automated service must have misheard a V for a B and texted the wrong reg (one letter incorrect) after I had paid. I replied to the text with the correct reg but they obviously took no notice because when I got back to my car I had a parking charge notice demanding payment of £100. I can see from the online record that they know the correct registration as they have got that down as well.
It is a new car park and maybe there are teething problems but I think this aggressive approach is totally wrong and I think they need to get their act together and stop bullying people.
There is no way of speaking to anyone about it - only an address for 'met parking services' appeals. I want to complain to somebody else about it.

You do NOT want to talk on the phone to a parking firm anyway. MPs refer to them as cowboys:

You need to read today's postings from this forum, not 2015 threads! These are appealed BY THE KEEPER (NOT DRIVER) and won at POPLA.
