Picasa question

Options
I have used Picasa for some years to edit my photos but something has changed on my PC. Before, I would insert my SD card and import the photos to my PC and then open up a photo to edit. Picasa would then load and I could edit.

This week, I imported photos from my SD card and when I opened the photo, Photo Gallery opens. I have gone to Control Panel, Autoplay, chosen Picasa and saved but Photo Gallery opens every time.

Advice on sorting this would be most welcome.

sounds like you need to go to settings and set that as default programme

Many thanks for replying. I have done as you suggested but everytime I open a photo, it goes to Photo Gallery and not Picasa.

Have you tried Setting 'Picasa photo viewer' as opposed to just Picasa as the default?
You could also try - Control Panel - Default Programs - Set associations? then set jpg to open in 'Picasa photo viewer'.
If all else fails Right click thumbnail - Open with - choose your preference.
If all that fails, we'll have a rethink....

Sorry! So, my solution was to move (cut) the photos from the SD card to Pictures on my C Drive. There I could open each photo and Picasa opened at the same time, which then allowed me to edit.

Opening a photo whilst still on the SD card, opened Photo Gallery but not Picasa! I can only assume it is something to do with settings?

    Thanks again for the help.

ah the norm is to download to computer from your card rather than open on card as usually format card to use again once sure all down loaded
