symantec email proxy popups!

i really hope someone can help.
last night i downloaded something and ever since i have been getting hundreds upon hundreds of pop ups from symantec email proxy saying your email message was unable to be sent because your mail server rejected the message. or they say your email message was unable to be sent because your mail server rejected the message 550 message identified as SPAM. i even get that the email address im attempting to send to their account has been disabled etc etc
im not even trying to send email. they are still popping up all over my screen as i type and doing my head in.
i just downloaded the superantispyware and got rid of just over 300 infections and now when i run a scan nothing is coming up but i dont understand these pop ups.
can someone help a rather confused person

That should make you think twice about downloading from dodgy sites!
