Credit check for Post Office Reward Saver account?

I'm selling my house and will have around £50k in my bank for at least 3 months, so I thought it'd make sense to stick it into a savings account for that time. Looks like it'll earn around £150 or so with the Post Office Reward Saver (1.4% AER).

Firstly, is this a good idea? Any better accounts out there with instant access?

My main question is-as I will be applying for a mortgage and want to avoid any forms of credit check before/after the application until completion, will the Post Office run a full credit check? I'd presume not as it is a savings account but from my searches here there is a lot of different information regarding savings accounts.

Thanks!
