    People deleting all of their posts when they get replies that don't back them up is fairly common on here, hence the reason for some regulars quoting the posts in full.
    But could the op not just delete the whole thread if that is what they wanted?

    No.
    You can delete the content of a post but even if yours is the opening post, you can't delete the whole thread.

    Fair enough. It's not what I thought - I thought the op could always delete a full thread.
