£150pm regular saver highest interest avail?

Options
Im stuck... hope someone can offer some suggestions.

I've been declined for an M&S current account (was hoping to do the 6% saver) .... I didn't even know that was possible!

So, I've opened a HSBC reg saver through my current account and plan to save £250pm there at 4%.

I have another £150 I want to save regularly, but can't open a flashy account which needs you to deposit more than about £300 a month in to it.

Is there anywhere anyone knows of that will pay 4% on the £150 at all?

I have a gift of £1k sitting in a 2.05% savings account... is there anywhere better to put that does anyone know?

Seems you may have missed out on several 5% and 6% accounts.

Open a first direct account and open a 6% saver.

If possible, switch a unused account to FD whilst opening the current account to get £100 as well!

Or, as an illustration, open a TSB Classic Plus and put the £1000 in, and a TSB Monthly Saver to take the £150 pm - get 5% on all that. Each month move £350 to your existing current account, and £500 back, in time for the Standing Order to move £150 to the Monthly Saver.

There are better ways to arrange things, but that answers your actual question.

Have you ever brought a house/owned a home? If not you could take out Halifax help to buy ISA at 4% (variable), maximum savings by standing order £200/month + £1000 deposit in month 1.

If you only pay basic rate tax, then this is the same as putting it into a normal 5% savings account (as after tax you get 4%)

Only until next April, when the first £1000 of interest becomes tax-free.
