Personally I'm not keen on the texture of duck, I'd love a goose for a change (errr, cos they are small...not! :rotfl:) or even pheasant but my DM who is the other person who will be eating it doesn't like the idea of those sadly, got all squeamish about them when I suggested it in previous years. Personally I don't get how you can happily eat chicken or turkey, yet be funny about a goose / pheasant or anything else. Still each to their own.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Thanks for all your helpful suggestions. I ended up popping into Lidl last night and they had a free range crown which was the right size for dinner, plus some (but not oodles) of leftovers at a very good price. So I opted for that, then found it had £1 off per kilo when I went to pay for it - definite bargain.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
