Fraudulent Charges

So I have a Capital One credit card which I use very sparingly (spend very little a month on it and pay off full balance every month via direct debit - need to build credit score).

Anyway, recently had a text saying that there was a suspicious charge on it. A small amount used on a beauty treatment in New York which obviously wasn't me. Card cancelled and charges refunded and so on, but I'm wondering where they got my details.

Then it dawned on me, I use it for monthly subscription and the odd game purchase on the PS4. Now I know that Playstation was hacked, but is it still that unsafe?!

Comments

  • I thought it as all sorted but maybe not.

In future can you not buy codes from other shops, which you then pay for things on the PS4 network, instead of putting your card details into the PS4?
