this is the last piece of the jigsaw in getting my laptop working again,and i'm stuck 
i need a driver for the network controller,
in the window "Network controller properties" i have under general tab,
device type: other devices
manufacturer: unknown
location: PCI bus 2, device 3, function 0
under driver tab, i have,
driver provider :unknown
driver date: n/a
driver version: n/a
under details tab,i have
Device Instance id
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1043&SUBSYS_25618086&REV_04\4&39A85202&0&18F0

Have you tried looking for a download according to your model and OS here:
http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=gen
If I do that for the model you quoted I get this:

got knowhere fast !!
just been on to BT (its their router i'm using) and they just took control of my screen, and said , i have no wifi card !!!!
well i haven't taken it out
any ideas cos i don'tliving on the "edge"0 -
Is the wireless card switched on?
