British Gas home care

I really want some insurance incase my toilet breaks or I have a leak and for a boiler service or any other home issues. British has a deem expensive however alternatives at £60 a year don't offer a boiler service and that's £80. So do I pay the extra? I could pay for repairs as and when they happen however I am saving for new windows in my property so I would rather not have to fork out of my savings for a year or two.

Is it best as a home owner to have cover? If you are renting the landlord or council fixes it free anyway don't they? If you have a house of your own you need to pay the repairs so that's why I wonder if home cover is good?

Have you compared the price of a standalone Home Emergency policy and a Boiler Service Plan? Some Home Emergency policies do cover boiler repairs incase of emergency but they don't automatically provide a full repair. A yearly boiler service should cost you around the £60 mark.
