Help! Missed POPLA DEADLINE, what should I do?

Hi All,

Help needed please!!

I received a parking charge notice from PPS (Premier Parking Solutions) back in July. I appealed directly to PPS using the template on here but through a combination of being on holiday and not finding the appeal rejection letter from PPS, the POPLA code they provided expired. Since then I have waited to see what would come of it and surprise surprise another letter arrived demanding the fine + an additional admin charge .

Is there anything I can do? Would it be worth appealing to PPS for another POPLA code? I'm confident POPLA would accept the appeal.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Nothing further you can do, unless you can find out who the landowner is and complain to them and ask them to cancel. Beyond that it's riding out a barrage of debt collector letters for the next few months - they can be ignored, but be alert for a Letter Before Claim/Action from the PPC or real court papers - do not ignore them.

The PPC has six years to pursue this.

    Good point Ralph-y.

The OP needs to Google 'European Directive Alternative Dispute Resolution' to understand how this might be utilised, but it would be fair to say that we have yet to see (AFAIA) a private parking charge being handled under this directive.

Just ignore them in the absence of actual court papers or a letter before claim, which PPS are not known for*. They normally send debt collector letters which can be ignored, as is covered in post #4 of the NEWBIES sticky thread about these fake PCNs.

NO NEED to tell us about debt collector letters unless you want a collective yawn as a response!

    * only 30 claims initiated (not even necessarily ending in a hearing) in a year:

That's a tiny amount, bearting on mind PPCs often issue more tickets then that in a typical single car park in a day...
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
