Linux (Ubuntu) - flash etc.

I've been using Linux for years. I'd struggle to transition to Windows now. I wouldn't know where many things are in the modern versions, and I wouldn't know what software to replace my favourite Linux software with either. Neither Windows or Linux is lacking useful software, it just takes time to change OS. If you're sure you want to do it, give it time.
As for anti-virus, it's not really an issue with Linux. I don't use it and I don't know of anyone else who does with Linux. It's very secure by design and not a popular target for viruses or malware either.
Anyway, Adobe officially stopped updating flash for Linux couple of years ago. The last version still works however and for many things is fine. However, if you use Chrome you can run the latest version of pepper flash, and there are various workarounds to use the latest Adobe flash in Linux as well. It's not impossible. I'm using various versions of flash in different situations. See if your distro has the freshplayerplugin available, as it makes pepperflash work in firefox. These days I only really need flash for a few streaming services. It's becoming less popular as time passes.0 -
