Scrapping car

My father-in-laws car has failed its MOT, and the cost of repairing is beyond economical - massive welding needed plus various other bits
Does anybody know what a fair offer would be for scrap value? Its a 13 yr old Mazda Premacy

Scrap cars aren't making much money at all at the moment. The last one we took (last week) we got £25. If you want them to collect it you might be lucky and get someone to take it for free.

Another option is to stick it on ebay as spares or repairs, that way you will probably get something.

My sister scraps a lot of cars, gets around £40 - £80 each.

Unlikely, if the MOT has expired. It may not have, but still unlikely.

LOL, OP asks whats a fair price for scrap car, and the advice is, buy a new one and get a magic £2,000 for it!

Call a few local car breakers and see if they are interested.

If you drive it to a metal recycling firm you will get about £50.

If you can remove the wheels and tyres you might get a few more quid, but not much.
