I just got my panels installed on last Friday (18/12/2015), can anyone kindly tell me if I can still beat the 14/01/16 deadline please? (assuming I can post the feed-in tariff form on Monday), thx a lot....

Didn't you ask the installers for assurance of that before handing over the money? Missing the deadline would be a disaster if you've paid thousands for the system!

For those considering PV Solar, HMRC has just issued a public consultation on increasing VAT on energy-saving products and labour from 5 to 20% to comply with a recent European Court of Justice ruling.

If you go to the 'Green and Ethical' section of MSE forum there are a number of threads dealing with this subject.


If you have a hot water tank the obvious way is to divert excess generated electricity via an Immersun(or similar) to an immersion heater.

Thanks for that. Already have a device for diverting excess energy to the hot water tank and it works well when we have a sunny day (bit rare at the moment!).
