NationWide FlexDirect Cashback for Joint Account?

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can clarify this for me...

A friend is referring me for the £100 Nationwide Cashback:

1) Can I open a Joint Account to qualify for the £100 Cashback?

2) If I open a Joint Account, when switching my existing Current Account to Nationwide, does that have to be a Joint account or can I get away with it being a Single Account and still get the £100 cashback?

Thanks,

    The switch must be like-for-like.
Joint to a joint or single to a single, they will not let you go from a joint to single account via this process.

Yes you can switch a sole account into a joint account using the current account switch service. (You can't switch a joint into a sole account though).

I've done this and received the refer-a-friend bonus.
  • Vortigern, Thank You!!!!

Just the answer I was looking for.
@hillcats. I'm opening a Joint NW Account and want to switch IN a solo account, so as Vortigern said, this is accepted (for the cashback)

Not sure what happened but we got £200 into our account this week even though we got no further than receiving the e-mail to pass on to the other half inviting her to switch another account into NW.
