Amazon Nightmare

Hi Everyone,

I ordered a double mattress from Amazon on the 29th November only for a single to turn up on the 3rd December.

Contacted Amazon Chat on the 4th where the agent stated that the correct item would be delivered which came on the 7th (was supposed to be delivered on the 8th) and also that DPD would collect the wrong item sent on the 7th.

I got an email just after 12pm to state that DPD would collect the item which had the incorrect address on it so got back on Amazon Chat to speak to a different agent who organised collection of item from the correct address this time and for collection on the 8th December only for DPD to not show up to collect the item again.

Contacted Amazon on twitter for help only to be told they couldn't do anything.

Contacted Amazon by phone on the 15th December this time only to be told by the agent that if he arranged DPD to collect then it would probably be a failed collection again but no explanation why but he would email me a Collect+ prepaid returns label and to take to my local shop as this would be the quickest way apparently.

On opening the email, there is no prepaid document to attach to the item and still states that I need to pay to return and also with using Collect+ on many occasions, they have a weight limit of 10kg and this weighs 15kg+.

I feel like I am banging my head against a brick wall to get this item back to them so that my card doesn't get charged twice due to their balls-up

Any help would be great.

Thanks :)

Has your card been charged twice?
This is their mistake, you shouldn't be expected to go out of your way to get it back to them. They can collect, or they can leave it with you. Stop using their chat, and e-mail or write to them. Be clear in explaining what has happened, and that they need to arrange collection. Give them a date by which it needs to be collected, at your convenience, not theirs.

  • a true nightmare. That is exactly the same one as I have every night, waking up in a cold sweat.
