cord to control fan/shower pulled out of ceiling fitting help please!!

Hi wonder if anyone on here can kindly advise me what to do as pulled my cord in bathroom to switch off fan/shower control and the cord pulled out of top fitting.

Took the top plastic round holder off and it all fell to pieces so now stuck as to what to do. I have found similar fittings at screwfix but not sure if I need a 2 way pull ceiling switch or a none way. also should it be 6 or 10 amp. I'll probably need an electrician I suppose but they cost so much. thanks in advance!!

It is quite clear to me that you do need an electrician.

Do you have a relative or friend who is properly competent at basic DIY electrics? I mean someone who genuinely knows how to replace an existing switch and has done so before, not someone who once changed a fuse.

If not, then you are going to have to bite the bullet and employ a qualified electrician.

Don't mess with electricity if you don't know exactly what you are doing and don't allow anyone else to do so either.

PS: re getting a friend to do it, please ensure that is legal. Someone else will probably comment on that.

I did the same. Had to get an electrician in.

    Annoying.
