Transit diesel cuts out while driving

asing for my father who's a self employed electrician. His transit (02 plate) keeps cutting out while hes driving, it dies instantly, no coughing or spluttering, and it will restart as soon as he tries starting it again. At present he rolls to a stop, then starts it. It will restart if he turns it over while he's still rolling along. He's had a couple of local guys/'mechanics' look at it but no one seems to have any idea, just thought I'd ask on here?
I realise you guys cant diagnose without seeing it, but wondered if its a common thing with vans/diesels/Transits etc

Flashing glowplug light or engine light on when it cuts out? Did any of the guys that looked at it check for fault codes?
Which engine? TDDI or TDCI?
Electric lift pump as well as the main diesel pump on that one?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Could be LOADS of things... fuel metering valve, pump, injectors, head gasket... loads of possibilities. Take it to a better garage0

Is he still driving it? Could be lethal to him and others.0
