Anyone switched off yet ?

Last Second class posting day is Friday, but not sure whether I trust Royal Mail to deliver by Christmas

Still getting sales which are obviously for presents, but can't decide when to switch off.

What's everyone else doing ?

I have only had 2 sales today. I started sending everything 1st class from Monday just in case!
I have had such a bad year I can't afford to switch off, but I expect sales will pretty much tail off now.

I switched off today. I have had a very very busy December and send a lot of things by My Hermes. People rarely extra pay for 1st class post option but expect the item next day regardless. Its not worth the stress of people accusing you of ruining Christmas for them because they picked the cheapest and so slowest postage option.

I'm still dithering..someone make my mind up for me please.

It will have to go off overnight anyway as I have some contract work tomorrow and an early start so will wrap todays sales and then switch off, and switch back on tomorrow morning.

Originally I had planned to switch to a 3 day dispatch tomorrow but am concerned that buyers don't read the delivery estimates so won't save me from disgruntled buyers. I already have some foreign ones sent yesterday and today, Slovenia, Belgium and France all of which show as delivery before Christmas- and that worries me. Add to that, and as someone pointed out on a different thread, the 'late' report only goes up to end of November , December doesn't even show yet- so I could already be looking at losing TRS as I have 3 lates for November.

I've temporarily changed all my dispatch dates to 3 working days, 2nd class and they still show :Thu. 24 Dec. and Wed. 30 Dec.

Hmm, I may switch off tomorrow until Christmas Eve then.

Networks still in decent shape,as it usually is.
Weather is the main driver for RM.

I switched off on Monday night. I had enough. We have had loads of things delivered 'late' 1st class. I have had to remake 8 orders today and send recorded as they say that they haven't got their first. My regular customers are saying that they can see I posted 1st class 5 days ago and they are only just getting it so I just couldn't take the risk any longer.

I actually don't know what to do. I never realised 1st class post at christmas would be like this. Might have to do first class recorded so at least I get a signature next year! Any advice?

We've had no problem delivering parcels. Parcels that come to us are delivered the same day starting early morning and continuing until all are delivered.

I have already redelivered 2 Amazon courier parcels to the correct address, seen another wrong one on another doorstep. And yet people automatically assume RM have delivered them incorrectly until I point out to them it was a courier.
