    It seems poor practice that the charge only appears on the screen above where you're currently filling in the form.

    It only shows up when you select an answer to the 'Are you a pay monthly or pay as you go customer, or a small business customer?', but appears alongside or under the previous question.

    There also seems to be no validation on the form. It seemed to submit correctly with a selection of made-up details.

    Overpowers seems a bit of a stretch to me. It's easily missed imo as it shows up above an MCQ you've just read rather than below. I don't think it is unreasonable to suggest the average person could easily miss this as we read down, not up.

    This is quite true but also quite damning in itself. Does it really cost £10.20 for EE to post a sim card first class in an A5 envelope? Seems a touch extortionate but I guess that's besides the OP.
