Anyway of making any money from old savings accounts

I know about the various cashabck current account switches, but having just discovered I have a couple of old Egg savings accounts (with grand total of 61p in them - whoopee) that I thought had been closed years ago, I don't suppose there are any deals to make any money out switching them ?? I am pretty sure there aren't but thought it worth asking before shutting them down and transferring my new found wealth out...

Switching offers are for current accounts exclusively0

Plus banks are learning to insist on at least one direct debit coming out of said account.
So inconvenient...0 -
Have you checked the interest rate Shedman? I have an old Egg account with a 1.5% interest rate which is pretty good in this climate. I am sticking with it....0

If its one of the old egg savings accounts that are now with YBS you might want to hang on to it as you can use it to pull money from a current account as a direct debit. You can then set this up as one of your "qualifying" direct debits on an interest paying current account.0
