I agree, ask for the tax payment amount in full, at the very least.
I would expect you to get an additional payment on top for your time and inconvenience.
Any suggestions as to how much additional payment I should ask for atush? I don't want to appear greedy but I feel as though I want to ask for about £500. It has really annoyed me that I'm having to fight for a refund of money I'd already paid, on top of the fact that I can't get my state pension for another 5 years!
They have sent me a letter with a recalculation and it is £200 less than the previous calculation so I intend asking them about this and telling them that I do not wish this lump sum paid as an unauthorised payment because it is only due to their error that it is now classified as such. I am supposed to complete the internal dispute resolution form and return it with details of my disagreement and what I want done to put matters right.0
