Buyer hasn't paid

Hi all,
I've just started selling on Ebay again after a number of years break. I sold an item on Saturday, sent an invoice on Sunday, an email on Monday asking if any help was needed and then another invoice yesterday with a note that payment is due and to contact me if any help needed.
My question is do I need to now phone the buyer before going to the resolution centre? Grateful for any help.

No you don't have to phone the buyer. I would only phone them if it was a collection. Just file an unpaid item claim.0 -
Thank you very much.0

Some buyers do take a while to pay. I normally leave it a week before chasing up payment but as a business I have a load of other sales to deal with.
As above if they are not replying to messages then open a case. They may be away but then they should have informed you they'd be away before bidding on the item.0 -
I open a dispute after 2 days, thats more than enough time to pay. Occasionally I leave it till day 3 and no one should expect you to sit and wait for payment. I do not contact the buyer as ebay do that for you, they send reminders to pay.0

I will do this next time. Thank you.0 -
An unpaid claim would go against the buyer's standing on eBay, wouldn't it? So the only time someone didn't pay so far I sent an invoice, then a reminder. They paid after that so no need to go further. I guess it's a bit like contacting a seller if you're not happy with the goods rather than just leaving negative feedback or starting a dispute. Mutual back-scratching and all that.Big corporations take advantage of the unwary, it's time we learned how to deal with them:dance::dance::dance:Any comments are based on personal experience and interest in consumer matters, they do not constitute advice.0

A NPB only goes against the buyer when they don't pay. A seller needs to open one to regain fees and avoid defects.0 -
So if you open one and they do pay in the end, that doesn't say on their record?theonlywayisup wrote: »A NPB only goes against the buyer when they don't pay. No, it only goes against the buyer when they don't pay.
Most sellers will have their buyer requirements set up to blocking buyers with 2 NPB strikes in 12 months.0 -
Yes, that's pretty standard, I also have that set up.theonlywayisup wrote: »No, it only goes against the buyer when they don't pay.
