windows mail problem

iam using windows mail on vista for two of my email accounts with tesco and madasafish , i am able to receive all my email , and create new emails and send, but when i reply to a an email and click send i get the following error message

An unknown error has occured. Subject 'Re:Please reply', Account: 'mail.tesco.net', Server 'mail.tesco.net, Protocol:SMTP,Server Response: '421 aamtaout01-winn.ispmail.ntl.com connection refused from [91.125.61.205]',Port;25,Secure (SSL):No,Server Error: 421, Error Number: Ox800CC67

I take it madasafish is your ISP?

Currently on your Tesco account, you're trying to send mail using Tescos servers. Tescos servers will only allow people to send mail from a Tescos internet connection, which you're not using.

What you need to do is to go into the account properties for the Madasafish email account and note down the name of the SMTP server. Then go into the Tesco email account properties and change the SMTP server address there to the Madasafish one. that way, you still receive e-mail from Tesco, reply using your tesco e-mail address but it gets sent through Madasafish's server which is allowed as you're connected via them.

Thanks for your tip, Conor. Anytime I wanted to reply from a specific e-mail address, I have dialled up that ISP. I didn't know I could just change the account properties!
