RM say that they can get in touch with the buyer in case of an investigation, but in my experience they haven't done so.

    Hope all goes well!

A few years ago I got a letter from Royal Mail asking if I had received an item from Hong Kong.

I'd received the item weeks prior to the letter arriving, and left feedback to that effect.

So I filled in the Royal Mail letter, and also enclosed a screenshot of my feedback saying I had the item, and had not told the seller I hadn't, so they had generated the claim off the cuff way after I'd confirmed receipt.

I suspect this was a major Powerseller just randomly putting in lost mail claims - I wonder if I'd been contacted because Royal Mail spotted a pattern to this seller claiming losses?

So Royal Mail do contact recipients, at least in my experience.
